2025 Impact Report

We're not just mixing drinks, we're mixing things up for the better! 

Here's a look at the incredible strides we made in 2025 to support our community and champion the environment

Community & Planet Investment

  • Impactful Giving: We are proudly donating approximately $180,000 to non-profits dedicated to uplifting our community and preserving our planet to fulfill our dedication to 1% for the Planet and 1% for Humanity.

  • Green Guardians: $90,000 was specifically pledged to visionary organizations focused on the study, preservation, and protection of the environment.

  • Local Luminaries: The remaining $90,000 went straight to organizations that celebrate, support, and truly uplift our local communities.

B Corp & Sustainability Supercharge

  • The B Keeper is In! We were thrilled to welcome our new B Keeper, Hannah Caldwell, who is expertly guiding us through the rigorous process of preparing for our next B Corp recertification.

  • Hands-On Environmental Action: We rolled up our sleeves and volunteered for environmental initiatives. (Imagine us in action! See pictures of our team volunteering.)

  • Deep Dive into Carbon: We've intensified our carbon footprint tracking! We now have a clear view of our utilities, downstream shipments, and the end-of-life carbon footprint of our packaging!

  • Joining Forces for Good: We became active members in local cohorts and groups that connect values-aligned businesses focused on sustainability and community enrichment. We attended dynamic brainstorming sessions, mixers, and enlightening Lunch & Learns.

    • Our Crew: This includes vital groups like B Local PDX, Oregon Business for Climate, and the Leadership+ Cohort.

  • Connecting with the Best: We proudly sponsored and attended the B Corp BLD Pacific Northwest Conference. This gave us an incredible opportunity to learn from and collaborate with fellow B Corps from across the country, sparking fresh ideas and partnerships.

  • Circular Economy Champions: We prioritize reuse at every step! This includes recycling flat boxes internally, donating our metal drums to local beekeepers for their hives, and sending plastic pak-techs back to production for reuse on 4-Packs. Furthermore, we operate our freight using CHEP Pallets, ensuring they are continuously reused and re-entered into the local circular economy.

  • Sustainable Packaging Shift: We upgraded our packaging for better environmental performance. This included transitioning from wrapped aluminum cans to printed aluminum cans, significantly improving their recyclability. Additionally, we replaced our previous recycled plastic 4-pack holders with new, recycled cardboard packaging.

Igniting Community Advocacy

  • Local Relief, Global Impact: We hosted a mutual aid food drive and fundraiser, sending essential funds to the Oregon Food Bank for their pantries and hot meal programs, while also stocking our local Portland Free Fridges around the city.

  • Leading the Conversation: Our B Keeper, Hannah, recently partnered with Rose Williams-Guevara from the Oregon Food Bank for a powerful Lunch & Learn. They dove deep into the state of food insecurity in Oregon, its root causes, and how both individuals and businesses can be part of the solution.

Straightaway Team Thrive

  • A Culture of Care: Within the Straightaway Team, we are constantly working to foster an enjoyable, supportive, and community-driven workplace. This year, we added paid holidays, threw a fantastic staff appreciation party, and created extra incentives to reward efficient and effective work.

  • Foundational Support: This is all in addition to our ongoing commitment to our team, which includes weekly company updates, Kudos to celebrate each other's successes, and comprehensive benefits like health, vision, and dental insurance.

  • Time for Impact & Wellness: We offer our staff two paid days off to volunteer with any non-profit they choose and two additional paid days off for dedicated mental health support.
